OpenStack London meetup

A couple of members of the Project Calico team went to the OpenStack London December meetup at Doggetts by Blackfriars bridge yesterday.  We were in the room at the top, which I think is the one shown here.

This was a packed event with around 50 present.  A glass of bubbly and plenteous canapés were laid on by the sponsors, so we were happy to tuck into that, before settling down to some great presentations: introductions to PLUMgrid and Intel’s Service Assurance Administrator, and a really interesting keynote from Márton Kiss covering the new features in OpenStack Juno and the highlights of the Paris conference.  [This was particularly interesting to me, seeing as I’d missed out on the Paris trip – I must start lobbying for Vancouver now!]

Oh yes, and I also had 15 minutes to give an introduction to Project Calico!

Cory and I were very happy to get such a positive reaction to Calico and it was great to meet and chat with so many people.  If anyone there has any more questions, then please feel free to get in touch through our mailing list or contact form on http://dev-project-calico.pantheonsite.io/community/.  We’re also really keen to see more people trying Calico out, so please visit the Download page and get involved.

Thanks to Mark for organising a thoroughly good evening. We will definitely be looking out for the next one.

PS. If anyone would like us to speak at their event, we’re always interested.  We’ve got developers in London, Cambridge, Edinburgh and San Francisco, but can always go further afield!
